Law Enforcement / Forensics

Checking a person’s ID is an important aspect of the job for law enforcement officials.  A Reader-Authenticator system can be a very helpful tool in the process.   Advanced ID Detection is pleased to offer a number of options geared to use by law enforcement or in forensic use by police.

Our Visual-AIDD system utilizes the AIDD-150 card scanner and provides a comprehensive means of easily checking any government issued ID-1 sized (e.g. driver’s license) document for both content and authenticity.  The AIDD-150 scans both sides of a document in full color at 600 dpi resolution as well as providing a Near-Infrared image.  The forensic version of the Visual-AIDD interface performs a barrage of security tests on the ID.  Field data is reliably extracted from the printed information, barcode and/or magstripe (if present).

When used for underage compliance checking, the display of birth date (and current age), expiration date, photo, and authentication result, makes it a quick and easy process to check an ID.  If you need to delve further into why an ID was questionable, there is provision for using a built in image magnifier to look examine closely any portion of the ID.  The system shows cross checking results between front and back information and automatically highlights and displays microprint areas.  The raw data from the barcode and magnetic stripe is also readily available.

The system provides full coverage of virtually all government issued IDs including driver’s licenses (and variants, IDs, alien registration and border crosser cards (for all North American jurisdictions).   Complete international coverage is also optionally available – the world’s ID-1 size driver’s licenses, voting cards, consular cards, etc.

If you have the need to deal with passports (ID-3 sized documents), we have a line of larger camera based  readers such as the AIDD-400 which can deal with passport and smaller sized documents (including driver’s licenses and IDs).  These readers are capable of capturing visible, IR, UV, and coaxial lighting images.  With these readers, there is full international coverage for both passports and other types of IDs.   Simply place the passport or ID on the glass platen and in a few seconds you will have the result.

We are pleased to now offer a complete system in a ruggedized transportable case.  The Police-AIDD system includes the AIDD-150 scanner, a powerful and fast compact PC, a 10” high resolution touch screen display , and a camera for facial comparison.   Now you can take our powerful authentication capability  on the road.  This can be invaluable in doing compliance checks onsite at liquor establishment.

The Visual-AIDD system can also easily be integrated with most police in-cruiser laptop systems.  Side mounting brackets, power adapters, or even center console mounts for the AIDD-150 are available.  We can customize a configuration to work for your needs.

News:

The Milton, MA Police Department recently installed our AIDD-150 reader into one of their squad cars to use along with their in-cruiser laptop.  We were very encouraged at the great response to the Visual-AIDD system by the law enforcement community at the First Annual New Hampshire Chiefs of Police show held on September 26 in Manchester NH.  The many police present were new to the technology we were showing and most had never seen any examples of the new high tech fakes out there.  We will also be at RI Police Chief’s Association show in Rhode Island on October 4 in North Kingston, RI.  Info can be found at http://www.rimpa.ri.gov/documents/pchiefs/2_Annual%20RIPCA%20Trade%20Show%20reg_10-04-11.pdfWe showed the latest in the Advanced ID Detection product line for law enforcement at this year’s Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Annual 2011 Trade Show on March 23, earlier this year at the Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center.   This was the largest trade show of its type in New England with over 150 vendors and we introduced our new ruggedized portable case systems and facial comparison capability.
